In collaboration with Northeast Precast, this project involved designing and fabricating a 6'x10' precast concrete panel, exploring the aesthetic and constructive possibilities of prefabrication. Prefabrication is critical for source reduction, minimizing material waste and maintaining an organized construction site. The result panel investigates the interplay of apertures and exposed rebar, emphasizing their potential to create dynamic architectural features while serving structural and functional purposes. Apertures allow for natural light and ventilation, reducing the need for additional systems, while exposed rebar introduces a raw, industrial aesthetic, providing opportunities for integration with other structural elements. This exploration showcases the versatility of precast concrete in combining form, function, and sustainability.
