The Boat House functions as an anchor for visitors who are intended to kayak in the Buffalo Bayou of Houston. The building features kayak rental, kayak storage, event space, locker room and space for shower and change. The technique employed in the construction of the building is derived from the construction process of another architectural masterpiece, the Steve Jobs Theater in Cupertino, California. The utilization of carbon fiber pre-fabricated components and structural glass allows the building to be constructed within a short period time and presented in its unique geometry.
